30 hours funded childcare is a government scheme that entitles you to 1140 hours of your childcare subsidised by the government to your setting per year. It is offered here a Three Bears Nursery and Preschool, it can be used during term times throughout the year (over 38 weeks) or stretched to cover 51 weeks of the year.
How do I know if I qualify for funding for my child?
Both parents/ carers in the household are working or you are a single working parent/ carer. (If you are separated from the other parent of your child the parent that your child lives with the majority/ all of the time must qualify.)
Each parent/ carer earns the equivalent of 16 working hours per week at the national minumum/ living wage.
Each parent/ carer has an annual income of less than £100,000 per year.
You live in England.
You are also able to claim the funding if you are an apprentice, foster carer, on maternity/ paternity leave, on paid sick leave, on shared parental leave, are self employed or are expecting to start work within the next 31 days.
How do I go about claiming my funded hours?
When registering with us if you are eligible for the funding and have redeemed your 30 hour code by going through the process on the government site (https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk) we will provide you with an official form to fill out to allow us to claim your funded hours.
How soon after my child's 3rd birthday can I claim this funding?
You can begin to claim 30 hours funded childcare from the begining of the term following the term in which your child turns 3. You must also apply for the code for your 30 hours and have this ready to redeem to access the funded hours.
Do we have to claim the full 30 hours?
You do not have to use a full 30 hours of childcare, you can still use part of the pool of hours if you wish to use fewer.
